The Child Marriage Restraint Act imposes liability on the parties if the documentation is not checked and the marriage is found to be underage. The Nikah Nama can also record the relinquishment of Dower. It is ultimately up to the woman to relinquish her dower. Dower can be relinquished or gifted according to law, but it is the male spouse who has to prove it. If a dispute occurs over the wife’s dower, the Court of Justice must verify that the individual relinquishing the dower acted as a free agent by substantiating the affidavit with evidence that it was not coerced.

Nikah Nama Can Restrict Second Marriage:
It is mandatory for a man to get permission from his first wife before he enters a second marriage in Pakistan, as well as get approval from an arbitration council.
